Provision the foundation.

OpenTofu describes the compute, storage and network resources beneath the workspace. Review a plan before applying it, and keep infrastructure changes visible in version control. The target can be your existing server; EC2 is not a prerequisite.

Compile a compatible environment.

Treat compiler versions, Python dependencies and system libraries as one compatibility problem. Pin the versions your project requires rather than assuming the latest of every tool will work together.

Containers are a choice.

Use Docker or Podman for isolated services and reproducible runtime boundaries. Keep native toolchains when they suit the work. Container runtime selection belongs in the workspace definition.
